Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped with modern chemical and biological equipment. Analytical facilities include:
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
- Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GS-MS)
- Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (UHPLC-MS)
- Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA)
- Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC)
- Rheology
- UV-Vis-NIR Spectroscopy
- Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
At the end of each semester, you will put your acquired knowledge and skills into practice during a four-week project. You will find it more rewarding to seek your own answers than to search for what others previously published. Here are some examples from projects.

In addition, there are facilities for molecular and cell biological work, such as PCR, incubators and laminar flow cabinets. As a Maastricht Science Programme student you will conduct your practical work at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus: the centre of the industry.
The Brightlands Chemelot Campus is an industrial site where companies of different age and size form one of the most innovative chemical and materials communities of Europe. In this environment with the exchange of ideas at its core, companies benefit from shared knowledge, short distances, excellent facilities and open innovation to accelerate the development of new products and product applications.
