Events and Collaborations

We are aware that organic and regenerative agriculture plays a huge role in achieving climate and social justice and want to support this from a grassroot perspective. This is why we work together with Reinier Hoon from Goutte, who provides FoodCoop (and thus you!) with organic vegetables and fruit. Reinier, like us, thinks that there should be a community around organic, seasonal, and local food to reconnect with what we consume🌱. We also frequently collaborate with Reinier on events such as farm visits and movie screenings. We have many plans for exciting events this year so stay tuned and follow us on Instagram!

A sale from last summer

At the beginning of December staff, volunteers and students of SUM2030 came together for a year end celebration and movie night at Lumiére. Check out the event recap!

As 2024 drew to a close, the SUM2030 team organised a movie night that summed up the year's journey of environmental commitment and community engagement. On December 2nd, participants gathered at Lumiére for an evening that blended inspiration, and collective vision.

The evening began with a warm welcome and light refreshments. Jeroen Warnier, the Sustainability Officer of SUM2030, delivered a reflection on last year’s achievements, the team's accomplishments, drawing connections between past efforts and future aspirations.

The community-selected film, 'How to Blow a Pipeline', served as the centerpiece of the evening. Following the screening, attendees—comprising staff, students, and volunteers— moved to the café area to engage in deep, meaningful conversations about the film's themes, sustainability challenges, and potential solutions. What made the event truly special was its ability to bridge different groups within the university. The movie was a great topic starter and it allowed participants to connect beyond their usual professional or academic boundaries.  The event wasn't just a year-end celebration, but it was filled with excitement, as it reinforced the collective commitment to sustainability, coming in 2025.
