Appointment of Dr Joost Sillen as Professor of Constitutional Law
The Executive Board has appointed Dr Joost Sillen as Professor of Constitutional Law (1.0 FTE) as of 1 September 2022. He succeeds Prof. A.W. Heringa, who has held this chair until April 2022. Joost Sillen currently works as an Associate Professor at Radboud University.
Joost Sillen’s research focuses on the current constitutional law and its foundations, always in connection with current developments. In his research he seeks cooperation with lawyers specialised in public law as well as in private law. An important theme in his research is the concept of 'a resilient rule of law'.
By conducting and supervising research, Joost Sillen will make an active contribution to the study of Dutch constitutional and administrative law. He will be involved with the Montesquieu Institute. Within the Faculty’s curriculum, he will be primarily responsible for the Dutch-language courses in Dutch constitutional and administrative law. He will teach a number of courses and coordinate the Public Law department’s contribution to the Bachelor's and Master's courses in Dutch law.
