The Netherlands is celebrating science and UM is joining in!
The EUREKA! festival will be held on Sunday 29 November at the Westergafabriek in Amsterdam. The entire country is invited to get a closer look at science and to experience how relevant, interesting and versatile science can be. During the EUREKA! festival, science will be brought to life through exciting live experiments, tests, mini-lectures and films. Nearly 12,000 people from around the country have submitted their questions for the National Research Agenda.
UM at EUREKA!
UM researchers will also be making a contribution to the festival. Mini-lectures will be held by Stefaan de Wildeman (survival of the fittest plastics), Gwen Noteborn and Catalina Goanta (wearables in the lecture halls), an ongoing presentation about adipose tissue will be delivered by Wouter van Marken Lichtenbelt and a discussion about how nutrients and additives influence health will be held by Ellen Vos and others. Yasin Temel and Alexander Sack will give us a glimpse into the world of brain stimulation in the Ketelhuis and the festival will be closed with a debate on the future of science with Sally Wyatt, Tsjalling Swierstra and Harro van Lente.

University discount
Students and staff at the participating universities can enjoy special discount prices. Discount tickets can be ordered here. The presale price is €12.50 instead of €15.00 and €17.50 at the door. Children's tickets cost €7.50 and can be ordered on the festival's website.
