Mieke Olaerts appointed as special professor in Comparative Company Law as per 1 October 2015

Mieke Olaerts, associate professor at our faculty (department of Private Law), has been appointed as special professor in Comparative Company Law as per 1 October. The aim of this endowed chair is to strengthen the faculty’s profile in the field of (international) company law and comparative governance and to give an impetus to multidisciplinary research (and education) in the field of governance. Mieke Olaerts will work in close cooperation with prof. Kid Schwarz, professor in Company and Business Law at our faculty. 

In education, Mieke Olaerts will be involved in the bachelor course European Company Law and the master courses Corporate Social Responsibility, Ondernemingsrecht, Comparative Company Law and Corporate Governance; she will coordinate the two latter courses. 
Mieke Olaerts will also have a leading role in the Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies (ICGI); As Vice-Academic Director she will be responsible for the development and implementation of the institute’s policy and she will supervise PhD candidates.
