The threats of fake news and political advertising
Are we Europeans resistant to fake news and targeted political advertising? How do disinformation and political communication influence our voting behavior? And how can we protect ourselves against manipulative campaigns? Sophie in 't Veld, Dutch Liberal Democrat MEP and Roy op het Veld (editor-in-chief of De Limburger newspaper) discuss the effects of fake news in Europe with Dr. Maja Brkan (associate professor of EU law at the Maastricht University Faculty of Law).

The main language of this event is English although participating in Dutch is also possible.
This event has been co-created with the Maastricht Centre for European Law, the Maastricht European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity and the Maastricht Law and Tech Lab.
