The Dutch Research Council (NWO) has awarded a Veni grant to eight young, highly promising UM scientists.

We congratulate all UM students who have received their degree this summer or spring!

This year’s Annual Research Day on 20 and 21 June (Toogdag) revolved around the theme of efficiency of human rights, and provided for valuable presentations and discussions from many different angles.

During the STI & HIV 2019 World Congress GGD Zuid Limburg and CAPHRI IPG PhD-candidate Charlotte Peters was awarded the first prize for best oral presentation for her presentation entitled: “Reaching home-based female sex workers with preventive sexual health care services in The Netherlands”.

During the International Health Economics Association’s (iHEA) conference on 13 – 17 July 2019 in Basel, Switzerland, several VHC members gave oral presentations.

The Faculty of law is very pleased with the award of more than 4 million euros by the Ministry of education, culture and science (MOCW) for strengthening its legal research. The Faculty will use this amount to create two new interdisciplinary research groups.

During this ceremony the Menno Knetsch Master Thesis Award has been handed out to Julian Engelhardt.

During the ceremony, Dr. Mike Gerards handed out the MaCSBio Thesis Award to graduate Felix Taschbach for his research.
