Cast your ballot on 21 March

Did you know that students living in Maastricht have the right to vote in municipal elections? On 21 March you will have the opportunity to cast your ballot and influence Maastricht’s political landscape for the next four years, because that’s when the next municipal vote is scheduled.

If you want to vote, you need to be registered as a Maastricht resident. If you are, you will be sent a ‘Stempas’ (voting pass) by mail in early March. You will also receive a map showing all the locations where you can go with your ‘Stempas’ and cast your vote.

If you haven’t registered at the city hall yet, then this is the time to do so - and hope your application will be processed before 5 February. Non-EU citizens who have been living in Maastricht for more than five years are also eligible to vote. They will also receive both the ‘Stempas’ and map by mail.

Want to know more about the upcoming elections? Check out MaasX for all the ins and outs of the Maastricht political landscape. Join MaasX tonight: a ‘MaasX Info Evening’ titled ‘What’s Up Democracy?’ will be held at the Muziekgieterij.
