On 27 May 2026, the Maastricht Centre for Human Rights hosted its first edition of the Master's Research-in-Progress Presentations.
The event featured three presentations followed by discussion:
- Isaure (Izzy) Richard, Gender Apartheid and its Interaction with the Crimes of Apartheid and Gender Persecution
- Luísa De Barros, Dignity in Death: Why the ECtHR Should Evolve Towards a Recognized Right to Assisted Dying
- Sophie Häckelmann, Abortion Rights in Europe
The Research-in-Progress Presentations provide Master’s students writing a thesis in the field of human rights law with an opportunity to present their ongoing research and receive feedback from peers and staff.
