Martin Paul receives city of Venlo's badge of honour
UM president Martin Paul received the badge of honour ('erespeld) of the city of Venlo on 7 September from Mayor Scholten. Martin Paul has meant a lot to Venlo and the region. For example, he was one of the founders of the Brightlands Campus Greenport, by establishing a branch of the UM in Venlo, according to the municipality.
Martin Paul received the award during a symposium on the further development of the Brightlands Campus in Venlo.
A day earlier, Martin Paul also received the city of Maastricht's Decoration of Merit. The president of the Executive Board will say goodbye to UM on 7 October and will become rector/chairman of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
