Joris Roosen (J.)
Joris Roosen (1987) is head of research and vice-director at Tracé - Limburgs Samenlevingsarchief. In October of 2023 he was appointed as Assistant Professor of Regional History at FASoS. Roosen holds a BA and MA in history from the University of Ghent and obtained a PhD in Economic History from the University of Utrecht. His dissertation focused on the demographic and economic consequences of the mid-14th century Black Death. Prior to working for Tracé - Limburgs Samenlevingsarchief, he was research coordinator for the Foundation for Auditing Research at Nyenrode Business University. His current research focuses on the socio-economic history of Limburg and adjacent regions, with a special interest in the Meuse river and environmental stewardship.
