Workshop Bilingual children with autism, SLI or deafness
The chair Language Culture in Limburg, Prof. Leonie Cornips, will organise an interactive workshop (in Dutch) in collaboration with Fontys OSO Sittard about the educational needs of bilingual/bi-dialectal children with autism, Speech Language Impairment (SLI) or deaf children.
During the workshop leading experts on bilingual children with autism, SLI and sign language will present their research while actively engaging with questions posed by professionals, parents and children themselves.
The aim of the workshop is to get insight into the vulnerabilities of these children in educational context since they have various ways to get their message across which is not always understood properly. The workshop will also try to shed light on their vulnerabilities and their social, emotional, cognitive and general development.
