International academic community
University College Maastricht is a tight-knit, international community that fuels your passion for learning. It is a lively hub where you dive into extracurriculars, work on projects, and share what you love. You will easily connect with tutors and students, building meaningful relationships. This helps you to grow socially and academically, explore your interests, build new skills, and make lasting friendships.
Choosing your courses
Throughout your three years at UCM, you will build your own curriculum by choosing from almost 200 different courses within 3 concentrations:
- Social Sciences
- Humanities
- Sciences
Your personal academic advisor
Your academic advisor will lead you through your journey at UCM, helping you build your own curriculum. Advisors are experts in the fields you want to pursue, guiding you with feedback and support. They help you to set clear goals, discover your strengths, and plan your curriculum to match your ambitions.
Because of the smaller groups, tutors can actively contribute to our growth, I feel like they want to see us succeed.
Becca Bowers (USA), University College MaastrichtSpend a semester abroad
UCM offers an exciting semester abroad programme, letting you spend a full semester at one of over fifty partner universities worldwide. You can choose from universities in Asia, Africa, Australia, North and South America, and Europe.
Student involvement
UCM allows you to be part of every level of the academic community: sitting on boards, joining committees, evaluating and improving courses, and advising on things that affect your experience. It is easy to talk to anyone in the administration about your concerns.
Study association Universalis
Universalis is a student-run study association that shapes both the academic and social life at UCM. They organise events like open mic nights, guest lectures, and parties throughout the year. Universalis' goal is to make your life at UCM as fun and enriching as possible.
Being a student in Maastricht has been a fantastic experience for me, because it is so easy to get involved in so many different activities. The university organised events are always great fun to join if you have been studying in the building and would like to take a break and chat to new people.
