Dr Christoph Rausch, MA (C.)
Dr. Christoph Rausch is assistant professor in the Humanities and Social Sciences at University College Maastricht (UCM). He is a co-founding steering committee member of the Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage (MACCH), which also constitutes the interdisciplinary institutional context for his research. Dr. Rausch serves on the research ethics review committee of Maastricht University's inner city faculties (ERCIC).
From September 2017 until September 2019, Dr. Rausch is appointed head of the department of Human Resources Management at the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences and the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience. In this capacity, Rausch also serves as advisor to the MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine, the M4I research environment, and the Department of Cognitive Neurosciences.

Professional career history
Rausch obtained his PhD in 2013. His dissertation was selected by the Boekman foundation and the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) as one of the three best theses written in the Netherlands between 2012 and 2014 in the fields of arts, culture, and related policymaking. Dr. Rausch's new book Global Heritage Assemblages: Development and Modern Architecture in Africa is published in the Routledge Studies in Culture and Development series. Rausch was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley in 2011 and a guest scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle, Germany in 2014.
For the Dutch scientist union, Dr. Rausch was a member of Maastricht University’s local consultative body advising the executive board on scientific policy making, academic career management and labor conditions. Having served on various boards and committees in the past, including the committee Studium Generale and the editorial board of Maastricht University’s independent magazine Observant, at present Rausch is a board member of the Observant foundation as well as a member of Maastricht University’s Arts and Heritage committee.
