The Green Office at UM is the central hub for student-led sustainability initiatives. It aims to inspire and empower the university community to take action toward a sustainable future. The Green Office organizes events, runs projects, and promotes sustainable practices in education, operations, and campus life. It serves as a platform for collaboration, bringing together students, staff, and external stakeholders to drive meaningful change. Its core values are engagement, innovation, and making sustainability a visible and integral part of university culture.

We are seeking a motivated and organized student to join the Green Office team as the Marketing and Communications Lead (10 hours per week, flexible schedule)

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for social media communication of GO & SUM2030 activities and projects
    • Creating and executing a coherent social media strategy 
    • Regularly updating the social media pages
  • Graphic design/content creation of content (merch/social media/posters) aligned to brand book guidelines. Previous content creation skills are a prerequisite.
  • Frequently connecting and aligning with SUM2030. Working closely with the SUM2030 communications officer
  • Expanding online and offline visibility of what UM is working on
  • Events content creation

Position Requirements

General: 

  • Passion and knowledge for sustainability 
  • Good writing and designing (in several different programs) skills 
  • Open-minded and learning-oriented 
  • Able to work independently, managing several tasks but also closely within the team 
  • Attention to details 
  • Availability for one year
  • Available for 10 hours per week 
     

Specific: 

  • Some degree of experience with different software (ProCreate, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Good design skills 
  • Well known with different social media platforms and online applications and how to use them for marketing purposes 
  • Able to write original posts and articles about Sustainability at UM
