Yannick Bammens (Y.P.M.)
Dr. Yannick Bammens is Associate Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. Yannick is programme leader of the MSc programme Entrepreneurship & Business Development, as well as founder and head of the GSBE research group Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
His current research centers on corporate innovation and entrepreneurship, with a particular interest in the setting of midsized and family-owned firms.
His work in this and related fields has received several awards at international conferences (e.g., Academy of Management, European Academy of Management) and is published in journals like Journal of Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Family Business Review, and International Journal of Management Reviews, to name a few. Yannick also serves on the editorial review board of Family Business Review.
As for his educational activities, next to running the MSc programme Entrepreneurship & Business Development, Yannick is involved in various strategy and entrepreneurship courses at Bachelor, Master and MBA level and co-supervises a number of PhD projects. Every now and then he also gives workshops at corporations, for example on entrepreneurial decision approaches and business models.
Yannick holds a Master degree in Business Engineering (magna cum laude) from KU Leuven (2004), and a PhD degree in Business Economics from Hasselt University (2008), both in Belgium. He has been affiliated with Maastricht University since 2008, first as an Assistant Professor (2008-2015) and subsequently as an Associate Professor (2016-present).
