International Student Welcome Day
The International Student Welcome Day on 27 August offers new international students at Maastricht University (UM) the chance to meet their fellow international students and university staff from the International Student Service Office. It is part of the UM’s welcome package for international students.
The event will be held at Ipanema: a very unique location at one of the must-see places of Maastricht. It is located inside of the Bonnefanten art museum. This way you can already cross this attraction of your list and you have only just arrived!

Get to know your fellow international students
The Welcome Day starts with a warm welcome by our office staff, followed by a presentation on behalf of mymaastricht.nl, informing you about all important matters when moving to Maastricht. We will proceed with lunch and the opportunity to get to know fellow new international students.
For €15 you enjoy a nice lunch, short tour, evening drinks and bites and - most importantly - you receive valuable information for your time in the Netherlands and at UM. All at one of the most iconic places in the city.
Tentative outline of the day (10:00h - 18:00h)
| 10.00 - 11.00: Registration of attendees |
| 11.00: Welcome speech on behalf of our office |
| 11.30: Presentation by mymaastricht.nl, followed by a Q&A |
| 12.30-13.00: - Get ready for lunch! - Short tour around certain nearby places as well as a short workshop to break the ice* |
| 16.00: 'Borrel' time: typical Dutch term to have some small bites and a couple of drinks to get to know each other and connect. |
| 18.00: Waving goodbye |
