Public Transport
Due to the growing car traffic in Maastricht and it’s surroundings, Maastricht University is less accessible for her employees and guests. Therefore Maastricht University promotes Public Transport and using a bicycle to travel from home to working place.
Employees who make use of public transport for commuting purposes will be reimbursed 100% of the actual costs on condition they travel more than 10 km from home to place of work. The relevant public transport ticket must be purchased via Finance. This way an additional discount on the purchase price is valid. Besides commuting Public Transport Maastricht University also promotes commuting by bicycle. Employees are entitled to buy a bicycle and receive a contribution of € 340,00 of Maastricht University. For more information please read Maastricht University Bicycle Scheme.
