China Scholarship Council (CSC)
The China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarship is intended for students from China who want to study the master's in Public Policy and Human Development, a unique programme that is a collaboration between the United Nations University and Maastricht University. This full scholarship covers the non-EU institutional tuition fee of € 16,600 plus cost of living and airfaire.
Who is eligible?
All candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and meet the requirements for obtaining an entry visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
- Be under 28 years of age at the time of application.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree and have experience working in an international organisation as an intern or other type of work for at least six (6) months; or
be enrolled in the final year of a master’s programme; or
hold a master’s degree. - Have been admitted to the master's in Public Policy and Human Development at UNU-MERIT/Maastricht University (which requires the payment of a handling fee of € 100 [excluding bank costs] - refunded to you once you have started your studies).

22 March 2024: complete your application (including payment of the application handling fee) for the master's programme in Public Policy and Human Development
For further details on how to register for this master programme, please see the website of Public Policy and Human Development. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a student ID number for UM.
You are responsible for paying the application handling fee (which is required to process your documents and will be refunded to you once you have started your studies).
- 30 March 2024: applicants are informed of acceptance to the MPP programme
- 10 April 2024: deadline for MPP-accepted applicants to apply to CSC
- 1 June 2024: from 1 June 2024, CSC informs scholarship applicants of their acceptance
