Karlijn Haagsman (R.K.)

Karlijn Haagsman teaches primarily in the MA Globalisation and Development Studies, of which she has been Programme Director since 2024.

Her teaching focuses on migration, globalisation and development, research design, and quantitative and qualitative research methods. She currently coordinates and teaches research-methods courses and contributes to courses on transnational migration and research proposal development.

Karlijn supervises Master’s theses in Globalisation and Development Studies and European Studies, as well as Bachelor’s and pre-Master’s theses. She has previously served as thesis coordinator of the MA Globalisation and Development Studies and has coordinated and taught courses of various courses in the minor and Master Globalisation and Development.

She also contributes to doctoral training and international workshops on transnational migration, mobility and transnational families.
