Research
Our department currently hosts one PhD student. Further, we are (co)-promotor of 6 PhD students from other departments.
Our innovative statistical ideas were awarded by diverse grants as main applicants and our statistical expertise by grants as co-applicants.
Research themes
Our main research themes include:
- Bayesian analysis of longitudinal data
- Bayesian psychometric modelling, particularly item response theory models,
- (Intensive) longitudinal data analysis using multilevel and mixed-effects approaches
- model-based clustering and methods to study latent two-way statistical interaction
- Agreement and reliability studies in complex study designs
Publications from members of the department can be accessed here.
We publish our research in various prestigious journals such as Psychological Methods, Psychometrika, The British journal of Mathematical and Psychological Society, Multivariate Behavioral Research, Biometrics, Statistical Methods in Medical Research, Statistics in Medicine, Advances in Data Analysis and Classification...
Also, various research results have already found their way in free software developed by our staff (e.g., shiny applications), and are applied by researchers in various scientific domains.
Collaborations
We are also interested to collaborate with researchers inside and outside the statistical field about the development of methods to answer their particular research questions. The result of such collaboration can go from co-authorship to joint grant applications and co-promotorship.
