Maastricht University has a very international character. Our students and colleagues come from different countries, with their own cultures, traditions and languages. That's where the concept of Language café came from. Getting to know native speakers and becoming enthusiastic about learning a new language.

The Language café is a starting point for students interested in learning new languages. At every Language café there will be a native speaker present to talk to. Up till now students could chose from Language cafes with a focus on Dutch, Spanish, French or German. Various activities and games are organised to get acquainted with the language. If you want to study a new language via Maastricht University, be sure to get more information at one of the Language cafes or visit our Language center.

Language Cafes take place once every month, check out the details below.

Every student has the right to feel welcome and comfortable. This is the main task of the Wellbeing team of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. Feel free to join our activities focused on support, getting to know each other and improving the study environment.

In Petto Okidok

22:00-22:30
Location 2: Bouillonstraat 3, Large Garden

How can we survive when the world is collapsing under our feet? The two characters of Okidok are driven by the constant search for balance. As musical clowns, they want to present their pieces of music to the public. Will they succeed, disoriented and clumsy as they are? ‘In petto’ means in secret and comes from the Latin ‘in pectore’ (in the chest), so this performance is all about the secret of the heart. Okidok’s mime and slapstick theatre is both touching and hilarious.
