Welcome to the UM Sustainability Days's Faculty of Social Science and Arts Faculty Day! Our program features a variety of workshops and activities exploring sustainability topics specific to the fields of social science and arts. This is a great opportunity to learn about the latest developments and trends in sustainability, network with professionals in the field, and gain practical knowledge on how to promote sustainable practices within social science and arts. Maastricht University, Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences is looking for a skilled, creative and motivated social media assistant to join its Marketing & Communications department.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled social media content creator, with an eye for trends and an understanding of social media metrics. Someone who is driven and shows lots of initiative. You are enthusiastic, want to enhance your skills and want to be part of our team. You love the creative process and provide our social media channels with valuable text, design, photo and video material to inspire (prospective) students, FHML staff & the general audience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a reporter and stay connected with events, news, and noteworthy happenings that you find relevant for the student community. Within our faculty, as well as in the city of Maastricht
    • You love to write copy in an engaging manner that draws students in but still reflects the Maastricht University tone;
    • You take jaw dropping photographs.
  • You like creating short videos for Instagram Stories
  • You feel enthusiastic to interview fellow students
  • Your feel familiar with Canva and enjoy creating graphics and design templates for e.g. Instagram Stories
  • You’re a planner and want to schedule social media posts, monitor online interaction from our community, and respond when appropriate.
  • Detail oriented? Analyse our posts and adjust strategy for effectiveness, reach and community engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You are a UM student with affinity for social media, its trends and best practices, and/or some online marketing skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in (one of) the following fields:
    Journalism, Digital media, Communications, Marketing, Creative Arts.
  • Photography/videography/editing/copywriting experience
  • Canva / Photoshop knowledge is a bonus
  • Ability to work independently and manage several ongoing or weekly tasks
  • Team player with attention to detail, punctuality and dependability
  • Pro-active and hands-on attitude  
  • Flexible work hours 
  • Available to work on location (UNS40)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Work is through InterUM, depending on age.
