Kicking off a new year of collaboration between Centres for Teaching & Learning of Maastricht University, Open Universiteit and Radboud University (RUUMOU)
On 10 September, 22 colleagues from the Centres for Teaching & Learning of Radboud University, Maastricht University and Open Universiteit gathered at the Open Universiteit in Heerlen. The aim was to share updates on ongoing (CTL) projects and explore opportunities for collaboration in the new academic year.
Next to CTL project-related activities, ideas for joint initiatives included providing a joint session at the SURF Education Days (November), contributions to the Npuls webinar series, and joining forces in thematic months such as Digital Fitness (March) and AI in Education (June). Collaboration between the CTLs is expected to strengthen the quality and reach of activities, with added value for the broader Npuls context.
The meeting opened with a presentation by Erik Kluijfhout, who introduced a proposal to create a new professional profile for Education Advisors, one of the joint ambitions supported by Npuls funding. Afterwards, participants moved into smaller groups to discuss four other key themes: how to reach and measure impact as a CTL, communication and information platforms for teachers, continuing professional development activities, and relations with faculties (for example, through the creation of Teacher Information Points). These sessions offered space to look back on plans from the past year, to share ambitions for the years ahead, and to identify opportunities for closer cooperation.
Back in plenary, each group presented a mini-pitch supported by a poster, outlining both concrete next steps and longer-term visions. The session closed with a forward look: what can we do differently tomorrow, when shall we meet again, and what support do we need from one another?
The outcomes of the day will be included in the joint RUUMOU plan and in reporting to Npuls and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, helping to guide the next steps of collaboration between the three Centres for Teaching & Learning.
