Margriet Schreuders new director of Student Services Centre (SSC)

About Margriet Schreuders
For the past five years, Margriet Schreuders has been a member of the Management Team of the Dutch lotteries Nationale Postcode Loterij, Vriendenloterij and BankGiro Loterij. She was ultimately responsible for the correct allocation and distribution of all proceeds for charity, and she formulated and implemented the charitable giving vision for all of the international Postcode lotteries. On the basis of this vision, €900 million is distributed annually within five organisations. Also for the fifteen years before this MT function, Schreuder’s built her career in this sector: she held various positions at the holding company Nationale Goede Doelen Loterijen in Amsterdam. Since 2018, she has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the American organisation Education Cannot Wait, which promotes education in disaster and war zones. In the same year, she became a member of the Advisory Council of The Elders, the independent group of world leaders working together for peace, justice and human rights.

Reactions to the appointment
“I am very pleased with the appointment of Margriet Schreuders as director of the SSC”, says UM Rector Rianne Letschert. “In her previous position, she has demonstrated that she posesses many qualities that attest to both vision and decisiveness, and with her people-oriented, well-balanced personality, we see in her a reliable, responsible director.”

Margriet Schreuders is delighted with her appointment: “I am very much looking forward to working with all my colleagues at the Student Services Centre to contribute to the mission and adequately assist students in all practical matters related to studying and student life. We live in a rapidly changing world. This is why one of our priorities is to make student services future-proof and compatible with our digital society. And all of this in close cooperation with and for the faculties. Given the drive and enthusiasm of my future colleagues, I have complete confidence in accepting this new challenge.”
