ITEM and CBS sign covenant
On 16 March 2016 ITEM and CBS have signed a covenant to strengthen the mutual cooperation between them. This involves the further spread and deepening of knowledge and information about cross border living and working in terms of policy and practice. The covenant will provide a concrete framework agreement between University and CBS, in terms of knowledge exchange amongst universities.
ITEM is a scientific institute of Maastricht University that is the pivot of research, counselling, knowledge exchange and training activities with regard to cross border mobility and international cooperation. CBS plays a leading international role in the area of cross border statistics in EU context and wishes to expand this approach further.
In cooperation with ITEM work will be carried out regarding interdisciplinary research projects with cross border elements in the area of labour market mobility, including job mediation and cross border commuter (target groups), social coherence, factsheets regarding the cross border impact assessment and additional policy analysis, battling and preventing crime and mobility, big data and privacy. Furthermore both parties expressly state their intention to use their best efforts to cooperatively organise additional financing for these projects.
