PREMIUM celebrates 15 years of excellence education!
Connecting talent with real-world challenges, PREMIUM prepares master’s students for their careers while driving innovation across the region.
For 15 years, PREMIUM – Maastricht University’s extracurricular excellence programme – has been preparing UM’s most motivated master’s students for life after graduation. EDLAB has been home to PREMIUM since 2015.
Each year, around 120 students step beyond the classroom to work in interdisciplinary teams on real projects for external clients. Through collaborating with organisations and companies across the Euregion, students apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges and make a tangible impact on Maastricht and beyond.
This close connection between students and regional partners supports innovation in the local community, strengthens graduates’ ties to the labour market and contributes to long-term socio-economic development in the region.
Alongside their project, PREMIUM students receive personal coaching and attend workshops that strengthen both professional and academic skills, empowering them to make their transition from student to high-performing young professional as smooth as possible. Their 5-month-long journey is completed with an official Honours certificate that recognises their growth and sets them apart on the job market.
PREMIUM has become one of Maastricht University’s flagship initiatives, a testament to our commitment to talent development, regional engagement, and the preparation of students to make a real difference in their communities and careers.
