MCPER: Research for and with members of society

A platform for scientists who want to do research at Maastricht University not only for, but also with members of society: that is the MPCER (Maastricht Platform for Community-Engaged Research). Community-engaged means that the research is about socially challenging issues, involving relevant societal groups and sharing knowledge with them in an accessible way. The platform will be formally launched on 3 October.

The platform, led by children’s rights researcher Marieke Hopman, supports scientists with all kinds of practical matters involved in community-engaged research. From getting subsidies to sharing data. Hopman won a UM incentive prize for this topic during the Opening of the Academic Year in 2017.
