As a PhD student at the department of Translational Genomics, I'm involved in many different steps. From bench to bedside: I work on the cell culture itself and talk to the patients that have various non-genetic muscle diseases. 

Collaboration is key, and together with multiple departments it is my responsibility to set up various projects that answer our research questions related to our muscle stem cell therapy.

• Muscle stem cell therapy in lung cancer cachexia with dept. Lung diseases MUMC: Cell culture, animal studies, clinical studies.
• Muscle stem cell therapy in sarcopenia with dept. Orthopedics MUMC: Cell culture, clinical studies.
• Muscle stem cell therapy in muscle disuse with UHasselt, dept. Sport Medicine: Cell culture, animal studies.
