Webinar: AI in the arts and arts education
Date: Thursday 19 June, 15:00-16:30
Provider: Zuyd Hogeschool, Maastricht University
Location: online (link follows)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) fascinates and frightens because it gives answers that are eerily similar to ours. Because that is exactly what AI does: give the statistically most likely answer based on the dataset. That dataset is us, western humans, with our carelessly left, digital slime trail on the internet.
AI holds up a mirror to us: it tells us something about our own 'natural stupidity'. AI does not analyse or think critically: it predicts the most likely, desired answer. What does a system like this mean for the arts and arts education? Time to think about that.
