It’s not possible to supply a duplicate of the diploma. I want to collect my diploma
Note: most of this information will be found on the FPN Student Intranet. If you do not have access, please contact the Education Office (+31 43 38 84 020 or askpsy@maastrichtuniversity.nl).
Your diploma is the formal proof of your achievement. Congratulations with this important milestone! Depending on your graduation date, there are several options to collect your diploma.
Your formal graduation date is the last day of the month in which you handed in the last work and in which all requirements regarding results, registration and payment are met.
- If your formal graduation date is between 31 October 2024 and 30 June 2025
You are invited to attend the November 2025 graduation ceremony, even if you have already collected your diploma folder.
Once you have received your Graduation Statement, your diploma must be ordered from a centralised facility. Due to this ordering and printing process, it will take several weeks before your diploma is available.
When you receive confirmation that your diploma is ready, you may:
- Collect it from the FPN Service Desk
- Receive it by post
- If your formal graduation date is 31 July 2025 or 31 August 2025
You are invited to attend the November 2025 graduation ceremony.
Please note: your diploma will only be available from the date of the ceremony. This means you cannot receive your diploma before the ceremony. If you do not attend the ceremony, your diploma will be available for collection from the Monday after the ceremony.
- If your formal graduation date is 30 September 2025
You are invited to attend the November 2025 graduation ceremony. However, due to the diploma ordering and printing process, your diploma will not be ready in time to hand it to you during the ceremony, so you will receive an empty diploma folder.

- If your formal graduation date is 31 October 2025 or thereafter
You will not be able to attend the November 2025 graduation ceremony, but you are welcome to join the November 2026 ceremony.

- Location: UNS40, Room A1.767 (just before the passage to UNS50)

Identification requirements
We can only hand over the diploma if we can identify you. Please bring your UM card and a state issued form of identification (passport, ID-card, Dutch drivers license).
Can I ask someone else to collect my diploma?
Yes. See this form Authorisation to collect diploma on behalf of student for instructions.
Can I still attend the ceremony if I decide to pick up my diploma earlier?
Yes. You probably want your diploma earlier because you need to prove that you graduated. There might be easier options.
In the DUO diploma register you can quickly and easily check your diploma details and download a digital copy of these. When used in its digital form (not printed!), it has the same status as a certified copy of your diploma. We can also email you a certified copy of the diploma. See Graduation Documents for more options.
I want to receive my diploma via registered post.
Once you receive the e-mail confirmation that your diploma folder is ready, you can submit a request to receive it by registered post.
We use registered post (PostNL or DHL) to get the diploma folder to you. From request to delivery, it takes about 9 working days (Europe) to 12 working days (rest of the world). We send you the track-and-trace details, so that you can follow the progress.
What if my diploma gets lost or damaged?
Although rare, your diploma can get damaged or - even worse - get lost. Should this happen, please note that we can only send you certified copies of the diploma and the transcript (list of grades).

How to get your diploma by post
We will always inform you by e-mail when your diploma is ready. Once you have that confirmation, you can request to get it by post. The procedure to get your diploma consists of two steps:
Step 1 produces the request email.
- Complete this online form. After completion, you will receive a confirmation email, which you need in part 2.
In step 2, you send the request email plus proof of identity.
- Scan your national identity card/passport. Write the objective ("FPN DIPLOMA") + current date on the scan. Cross out your social security number (BSN).
- Create a new email to the Education Office with the subject 'Diploma request'. You will need your UM (alumni) account to do this.
- Paste the text from the confirmation email, including your responses, into the message.
- Attach the scans of your UM-card and identity card/passport to the message.
- Submit your message.
We will confirm the receipt of your request within 5 working days. For you, the 'diploma by post' -service is free of charge.
