Dr F.J. Troost

Research profile

▪  Scientific work, general interest: food innovation, health and nutrition.

▪  Expertise; gastrointestinal processing and health effects of functional dietary ingredients, effects of pre- and probiotics on host metabolism and health, modulation of gut microbiota, sports nutrition,(mucosal) regulation of appetite and satiety, modulation of visceral perception in health and (gastrointestinal) disease, and in general, effects of food and nutrition on health and metabolism.

Intervention models include the use of intestinal feeding/aspiration catheters in any location in the gastrointestinal tract, biological specimen sampling (tissue, secretions, blood), non-invasive dietary interventions, development of biosensors to measure relevant health parameters in humans.
