This first session of 2019 is organised in collaboration with the MHeNs School for Mental Health and Neuroscience on February 21, 2019 from 12:00 - 1:00pm.

Title: MHeNs research line Neuroepidemiology

Abstract: The research line Neuroepidemiology at the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience and the Alzheimer Center Limburg at Maastricht University Medical Center+ aims to help people grow old with good mental and brain health. To this end, we conduct large-scale population-based and clinical research into the aetiology and course of psychiatric and neurological disorders using prospective designs. Most studies focus on dementia, stroke and depression. We want to understand heterogeneity among individuals and population mixtures in order to develop new prevention strategies, with an emphasis on universal and selective prevention through lifestyle interventions. Complex associations exist with clustering of and interactions between risk factors at the individual level, about which little is still known yet.

12.30 - 13.00

Discussion on "Usability of machine learning for exploring complex associations".
