Coachcafé - new editions coming up!
Personal development for young alumni
The Coachcafé is an evening programme which is intended for young alumni (who graduated no more than five years previously) and involves three rounds of discussions. Each round will focus on one question:
1. What is your talent?
2. What is your dream?
3. What is your next step?
Each meeting will involve three participants, young alumni of Maastricht University, and one coach. The coach will supervise the discussion, ask stimulating questions, inspire the participants and help them find answers.
The concept has proved successful and similar events have been organised in various locations in the Netherlands for years. It helps young alumni to adopt a more mindful approach to what their true strengths and wishes are.
Life long learning
Maastricht University has a wide range of postgraduate programmes. So there's always a possibility to broaden or update your knowledge long after you have graduated.
UM offers short courses, workshops and study programmes over a longer period of time. Also, the Language Centre has lots to offer if you have ambitions to learn a new language or improve one you master already.
If you don’t know where to start looking for a job after graduating, you can turn to UM Career Services, which provides UM alumni with career planning support up to half a year after graduation.
Career Services offers support including training and individual guidance as well as Quick Career Advice by a career adviser.
For more information see: 'Support'.
Do you have a job in which you regularly communicate with international colleagues? Would you like to further develop your oral skills so you will be more convincing when giving presentations? How do you write good notes in a another language? Or would you like to prepare for a Cambridge examination or IELTS test so that you can include your level of English on your CV?
If so, the Language Centre is the place to be. It provides language training (individual or in-company group training) in English, Dutch, French, Spanish, German and Italian. The training ranges from beginners to advanced level and will be given by experienced teachers, most of whom have experience in the business world. The Language Centre also provides an editing and translation service for any documents that need that professional edge.
You can find more information on the Language Centre website. If you would like to meet with us to discuss language training for your company or organisation, just let us know and we would be happy to arrange a meeting with you.
A special service: your lifelong email account
This is an extra mail address which is linked to your student mailbox. The login procedure is exactly the same as for your student email account and you are still able to access mails from your student email account. Your alumni mail account becomes active after your graduation date and will last eternally. To forward your alumni mail account to another mail account (e.g. a hotmail or gmail account) you can follow this manual
Please note that PhD's who have not studied at Maastricht University before their PhD program unfortunately don't receive an alumni mail account. This is due to the fact that these alumni did not have a student account during their PhD program but an employee mail account.
For questions about your alumni e-mailaccount contact us at:
Forgot your password
If you forgot the password of your alumni e-mail account, we advise you to send an e-mail to the ICTS Service desk with the request to reset the password for your alumni e-mail account.
You will need to attach a copy of your passport (for verification reasons) and your phone number in order for them to be able to reach you. After the reset of your password they will call you to provide you with a new password.

UM alumni are entitled to a UM SPORTS membership for the rest of their lives, and can thus make use of the sports facilities at Maastricht University.
