Collaborate

Service and social robots are becoming part of everyday service delivery in sectors such as hospitality, retail, and care. Their introduction raises important questions about how they should be designed, integrated, and governed to create value for organizations and society.

The Maastricht Center for Robots (MCR) brings together research and practice to address these challenges. We work with global academic and industry partners to understand human-robot interaction in real contexts and to support the effective, responsible adoption of service and social robots.

Workshops & Training for Service Robot Literacy

MCR designs workshops and training activities that help organizations understand where service robots can create value in their own environment. These are strategic, not technical: they focus on assessing opportunities, understanding human-robot collaboration, and considering the implications for guest experience, ethics, and employee satisfaction.

Evidence-based Innovation with Methodological Rigor

We study how service and social robots perform in real service environments such as hospitality, retail, and care. Through rigorous field research, we examine human-robot interactions, acceptance, and the impact on employees, customers, and organizational outcomes.
