P. Bles, Ph.D.

Per Bles is a postdoctoral researcher on the project Early Predictors of School Success (EPoSS), at the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) in which the effects of lifestyle, different aspects of health and (un)healthy behaviour of primary and secondary school pupils on their educational performance and educational career are researched. 

Before that, he was postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam Center for Learning Analytics (ACLA), of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Here he analysed ways to shrink the teacher shortages in primary education. He was part of Education Lab Netherlands too. 

He obtained his PhD on the NRO-funded project Flexibility of Education Systems at ROA. Before that, he was a researcher at the same institute and amongst others contributed to the Netherlands Cohort Study of Education (NCO), the research project on Excellence in Higher Education and ROA's school leaver surveys.

He studied Sociology at the Radboud University. He joined the Radboud Honours Academy during his bachelor’s as well as in his master’s. After completing his master’s in Social and Cultural Science, he started working at the HAN University of Applied Sciences as a lecturer on scientific research skills.
