John was born in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, but he was raised in the Netherlands. He has a bachelor’s degree in European Studies from Zuyd Hogeschool in Maastricht. He decided to stay in Maastricht for the master’s programme European Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

My name is Lucía Arroyo Carriedo, I am studying the MA European Studies: Global Policy and Governance Challenges and I am from Madrid. Before coming to FASoS I studied the Bachelor in International Relations with History at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Bianca is from Romania and has a bachelor’s degree in International Business & Economics from the University of Bucharest.

Kimberly Ricaurte is from Ecuador, she has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations at Universidad de las Americas (UDLA) in Quito, Ecuador and decided to come to Maastricht for the master’s programme Globalisation and Development Studies.

Valery is from Bogotá, Colombia, has a bachelor’s degree in Government and International Relations from the Universidad Externado de Colombia in Bogotá and she decided to come to Maastricht for the master’s programme in Globalisation and Development Studies.

Mar is from Spain and has a bachelor in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Barcelona.

“Back when I was in high school, my mother already figured that Maastricht University, with its Problem-Based Learning approach, would be just my thing. But I’m from Heerlen and I didn’t want to go to university so close to home, so I decided to enrol in Communication Sciences in Leuven. It didn’t go well. I wasn’t good at regurgitating eight different courses word for word after thirteen weeks. And the people were very reserved, so I found it hard to make contact with other students. After a year, I decided to come to Maastricht.

My name is Nicolò Pantaleo, and I am currently attending a master in International Relations. I am from Italy, close to Rome. In 2015, I obtained a ‘Science of Tourism’ bachelor’s degree at Rome “La Sapienza” University, and last year I achieved a second bachelor’s degree studying International Business Administration at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.

My name is Fara and I’m Dutch but I grew up in Germany. I am now in my second year of studying European Studies which I started right after finishing high school.

I am Ali Juma Taqavi from Afghanistan. I am doing Masters in Globalisation and Development Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. I did my Bachelor’s in Political Science and Public Administration.
