Mireille Hildebrandt is a research professor on interfacing law and technology at Vrije Universiteit Brussels, and a part time chair at the CS department at Radboud in Nijmegen as a full professor. ​Her research is on the implications of automated decisions, machine learning and mindless artificial agency for law and the rule of law in constitutional democracies. She has published 5 scientific monographs, and over 100 chapters and articles in scientific journals and volumes.

 

WiDS Maastricht Conference 2023

Nava Tintarev is a full professor of Explainable Artificial Intelligence at the Maastricht University and a visiting professor at TU Delft. She conducts research in the field of human-computer interaction in artificial advice giving systems. She has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers in top human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence journals and conferences.

Isabelle de Zegher is founder of b!loba, focusing on health data sharing solutions and currently the clinical coordinator of the AIDAVA Horizon Europe project. Isabelle is a Medical Doctor from the University of Louvain and a Master of Sciences in Medical Information Sciences from Stanford University. She has extensive experience in health information technology, data standards, data integration, semantic interoperability, and application of AI in clinical research.

Which personal data the UM processes

In the context of answering your questions, scheduling or planning your visit, keeping you up to date about our activities and/or otherwise providing you with the services and/or information you requested, UM processes the personal data that you enter yourself.

Purposes

UM processes the above personal data with the following purposes:

  • Forwarding your question(s) and request(s) to the appropriate internal address(es);
  • Answering your question(s) and request(s) by contacting you at the e-mail address you entered;
  • Making arrangements to accommodate your request(s);
  • Evaluating and thereby improving the performance of our contact forms;
  • Evaluating and thereby improving the quality and availability of the information UM provides to interested parties;
  • Keeping you up to date about our activities, in case you have explicitly indicated that you wish for us to do so.

Processing ground

When UM processes your personal data, this processing is based on a processing ground. A processing ground is the reason why personal data is processed. UM processes your personal data based on the following processing ground(s):

Permission

If the ground for processing is your permission, you can always withdraw this permission by contacting fse-events@maastrichtuniversity.nl. The withdrawal of your permission does not have retroactive effect.

Retention periods

Personal data is not kept by UM for longer than is necessary to achieve the purpose of the processing or to comply with a legal obligation.

The personal data entered by you will be stored no more than 24 months after you completed the form.

Recipients of personal data

Measures have been taken within UM to ensure that only the persons who must process your personal data have access to it. Your personal data is not shared with third parties.

Your rights

The privacy legislation gives you a number of rights with regard to your personal data. These rights are listed briefly below. You will find more information about each of these rights and how you exercise these rights in the general privacy statement on the UM website.

You have the right to view, correct and delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to limit the processing, to have your data transferred to another party and the right to object when processing is based on a legitimate interest.
