EDLAB's Diversity Lunch
What does inclusion actually look like in practice? Join the first EDLAB’s first Diversity Lunch where colleagues come together in a relaxed, interactive setting to reflect on inclusive teaching and explore how small, practical choices can make a meaningful difference in the classroom.
In this first edition, we focus on what diversity and inclusion looks like in everyday teaching. We’ll reflect on how to make our learning environments more accessible and welcoming for all students, including those with visible and invisible disabilities, chronic conditions, or neurodivergence.
This session is organised in collaboration with students from UnliMited, a student-led network at Maastricht University. During the session, these students will share their own real-life experiences, both positive and challenging, offering honest insights into what helps them feel included, supported and able to thrive and where barriers still exist.
Through small-group discussions focused on real-life scenarios, we’ll explore questions such as: What does inclusion mean in practice? What barriers might students experience? And what simple, realistic actions can we take in our own teaching?
No prior experience with the topic is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to exchange ideas. Whether you’re new to inclusion or already working on it, you’ll leave with fresh perspectives and practical ideas you can immediately apply.
