"Al doende leren in de klinische praktijk"

In my farewell lecture, I will first of all thank the people with whom I have had the opportunity to work and who are important to me. Then, based on my own experiences during education and career, in which I combined training, scientific research and clinical work as an orthopaedic surgeon, I will analyse what I have learned and what insights I have developed. During this analysis, it is also discussed which (social) changes have influenced the three domains mentioned. On the basis of statements, I then make suggestions to involve this knowledge and experience in the developments that are now taking place in training of medical professionals and their work in the hospital.
