Dr P. Bosilj
I am an Assistant Professor in Computer Vision for Embedded and Robotic Systems in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Maastricht University. I received my PhD from Université de Bretagne Sud, France in 2016.
My research interests revolve around image understanding, and more specifically I am concerned with building computer vision models that are data-efficient, especially during training. I approach this through two complementary aspects of model design: by improving model generalisation under domain shift through novel and designing task-specific models for bespoke tasks. My research has found many interdisciplinary applications, ranging from remote sensing, through ecological modelling and robotic agriculture.
Expertises
Research Topics:
- computer vision, deep learning applied to object detection and counting
- domain shift with particular interest in domain generalisation
- mathematical morphology and hierarchical modelling
Application Domains:
- precision agriculture and robotic phenotyping
- biodiversity and ecological modelling
