Bram Rijsbosch (B.U.)

I am a PhD candidate at the Maastricht Law & Tech Lab, where I am part of the RegTech4AI research project (https://regtech4ai.com).

Together with a team of legal scholars and computer scientists, I work on auditing AI systems for emerging legal requirements, and developing technical tools and methods to support the practical implementation of the EU's recent AI regulations (AI Act, DSA).

I enjoy research in technical AI governance, as it allows me to combine technical work with questions around ethics, policy and law, with the goal of contributing to safer and more accountable AI use. I hereby built on my interdisciplinary background, with degrees in Technology Policy (University of Cambridge), Artificial Intelligence, and Economics (University of Groningen), and prior work experience at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, where I was actively involved in the negotiations and implementation of the EU AI Act.

Alongside my research, I teach Internet Law, supervise students in both law and computer science, and give regular trainings in AI literacy and AI auditing.
