Bram Rijsbosch (B.U.)
I am a PhD candidate at the Maastricht Law & Tech Lab, where I am part of the RegTech4AI research project. My work, in collaboration with a team of legal scholars and computer scientists, focuses on developing technical tools and methods to support the practical implementation of the EU's recent AI regulations, including the AI Act and the DSA.
I enjoy research in technical AI governance, as it allows me to combine technical work with questions around ethics, policy and law, with the goal of contributing to safer and more accountable AI use. Alongside my research, I teach technology regulation and supervise student projects in both law and computer science.
Prior to starting my PhD, I worked at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, where I was actively involved in the negotiations and implementation of the EU AI Act.
My academic background includes an MPhil in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge (letter of commendation) and bachelor's degrees in both Artificial Intelligence and Economics (cum laude) from the University of Groningen, where I also spent a semester abroad at City University of Hong Kong.
