Poster prijs voor Eveline van Velthuijsen
Eveline van Velthuijsen heeft de Poster Prijs gewonnen tijdens het 12e congres van de European Delirium Association in Oslo.
Titel van haar poster: reduce medication, reduce delirium!
We hebben onderzoek gedaan naar de effecten van een medicatierevisie op de duur van een delier bij oudere ziekenhuispatiënten. Deze medicatierevisie werd uitgevoerd door een geriater en een klinische farmacoloog. We vonden dat bij patiënten die tussen de 1 en 7 medicijnen slikken, een medicatierevisie kan leiden tot een significant kortere duur van de ziekenhuisopname. Dit effect werd minder sterk bij patiënten die tussen 7 en 11 medicijnen slikken, en verdween bij patiënten die 12 of meer medicijnen slikken.
