Abstract

Computational Social Science (CSS) is a growing field which investigates societal issues from a multi-disciplinary perspective. During her seminar, Dr. Doğruöz will first present research findings about applying computational methods into spoken and digital communication data to investigate social and linguistic diversity among speakers/users. 

In the second part, she will highlight applications of her research into societal issues and industrial use cases. If time permits, she will also share her experiences about conducting multi-disciplinary research in academic and industrial contexts. 

Bio

Dr. A. Seza Doğruöz obtained Ph.D. degree in the Netherlands. Combining research questions from humanities and social sciences with computational methods of research, she has led academic and industrial research projects and teams internationally and published across fields widely.
