Saad Lodhi (S.S.K.)
I am Saad, a PhD candidate at the Department of Translational Genomics (TGX). I grew up in Lahore, Pakistan and completed my Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at the Forman Christian College, Lahore. I developed interest in life sciences, particularly genetic engineering, inspired by a family member. To further my education, I pursued my Master's degree in Systems Biology with a specialization in Molecular Biotechnology at the University of Skovde in Sweden. I conducted my Master's research at the Center for Molecular Medicine at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, where I focused on studying gene-gene interactions in Rheumatoid Arthritis. I investigated genetic data from EIRA (Epidemiological investigation of rheumatoid arthritis) and SRQb (Swedish Rheumatology Quality Register biobank). After finishing my Master's degree in 2021, I briefly worked at UniLabs Sweden as a Biologist where I conduced COVID-19 testing and analysis. In May, 2022, I joined TGX as a PhD candidate as part of the Virtual Human Platform for Safety Assessment (VHP4Safety). My research activities involve toxicogenomics data analysis using Machine Learning and advanced bioinformatics tools.
