Strategic partnership Universities of York and Maastricht awarded by appointment new director
Following a joint recruitment process, the universities of Maastricht and York are pleased to announce that Ian Wiggins will be taking up the role of the Director of the York Maastricht Partnership on June 18th 2019. Ian is currently Senior Executive Officer and Head of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office at the University of York. Before joining York, he worked as a Diplomat in the UK Foreign Office, where he had postings to both Washington and Moscow.
The acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of York, Professor Saul Tendler said: ‘’I am delighted that we have been able to appoint Ian to this key role that will drive forward the new strategic partnership”. The President of Maastricht University, Martin Paul: ‘given the potential opportunities, I am confident that with the appointment of the YMP director we have achieved a further milestone and will be able to accelerate joint education and research projects of our universities’.
