Caroline Cauffman has been appointed as an expert at the Belgian Special Advisory Commission on unfair contract terms, part of the Central Council for Business. The Commission drafts advice and recommendations regarding contractual clauses in B2C relationships and can propose amendments to the law within the framework of its powers.
One or more ministers, the Council of Ministers, the parliament, another federal government agency, the Central Council for Business itself, the consumer organisations, the relevant (inter)professional groups and, in the case of clauses in contracts concluded between a consumer and the holder of a liberal profession, the professional regulatory authorities can appeal to the Commission.
Caroline Cauffman is benoemd tot deskundige bij de Belgische Bijzondere raadgevende commissie onrechtmatige bedingen, onderdeel van de Centrale Raad voor het Bedrijfsleven. De brc Onrechtmatige bedingen redigeert adviezen en aanbevelingen omtrent contractuele clausules in B2C-verhoudingen en kan voorstellen doen tot wetswijzigingen doen in het raam van haar bevoegdheden.
Eén of meerdere ministers, de Ministerraad, het parlement, een andere federale overheidsinstantie, de CRB zelf, de consumentenorganisaties, de betrokken (inter)professionele groeperingen en, in geval van bedingen in overeenkomsten gesloten tussen een consument en de titularis van een vrij beroep, de beroepsregulerende overheden, kunnen een beroep doen op de brc.
