Dr Nicole Kornet (N.)
Professional career history
Dr. Nicole Kornet is a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at Maastricht University.
She is a graduate of the the University of Otago, New Zealand (BA LL.B. (Hons)) and Maastricht University (LL.M.). She successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled ‘Contract Interpretation and Gap Filling: Comparative and Theoretical Perspectives’ (Intersentia, 2006) in September 2006.
Nicole is responsible for the master course on International Commercial Law and teaches in the courses Comparative Contract Law and International Commercial Dispute Resolution. She is also the Programme Coordinator of the Maastricht University Law College, the law faculty's honours programme for bachelor students and the law faculty coordinator of the Maastricht Research Based Learning (MaRBLe) programme.
Nicole's primary focus is on education development and innovation. In the context of the Maastricht University Law College, she is working on the establishing a competence-based curriculum as well as creating a personal development and student leadership programme.
