Research quality
At Maastricht University (UM), we strive to maintain the highest standards of our research quality. To ensure this, an external review committee (ERC) assesses the research conducted within our faculties and research units every six years.
The ERC follows the methods and criteria outlined in the Standard Evaluation Protocol for Public Research Organisations (SEP). The SEP is established by KNAW (The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences), NWO (The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research) and VSNU (association of universities in the Netherlands ), and is utilised to evaluate research carried out at Dutch public organizations, including universities and institutes associated with NWO and KNAW.
